Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data this website collects, why, how long it's kept, and what you can ask us to do about it. It's written to be read rather than to be legally impressive.
Who is responsible
Knox Technology Advisors LLC, formed in California, United States, is the controller of personal data described here. Contact: privacy@knoxtechnologyadvisors.com.
What this site collects
If you submit the contact form
Your name, email address, organization (if you provide it), the topic you select, and your message. That's it. There are no hidden fields beyond a spam honeypot, which collects nothing from humans.
If you just read
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. There is no advertising pixel, no session recording, no fingerprinting, and no third-party embed. Nothing is loaded from a third-party domain.
Our hosting provider automatically processes standard server log data (including your IP address, the page requested, timestamp, and user agent) because that is technically necessary to deliver the page and to defend against attacks. We don't have a per-visitor view of that data and don't use it to build profiles.
Why (lawful basis under GDPR)
- Contact form: to respond to your enquiry. Lawful basis is legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)), since you contacted us and expect a reply, or steps toward a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) where you're enquiring about an engagement.
- Server logs: legitimate interests in operating and securing the site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
We don't rely on consent for anything, because we don't do anything that requires it. If that changes, this notice changes first.
Who else sees it
- Netlify hosts this site and stores contact form submissions. Data may be processed in the United States, under Netlify's data processing agreement.
- Our email provider, which delivers form notifications to our inbox.
We don't sell personal data, don't share it with advertisers, and don't add you to a mailing list because you used the contact form.
How long it's kept
- Enquiries that don't become engagements: deleted within 24 months.
- Enquiries that become engagements: retained for the life of the engagement plus the period required for tax, professional indemnity, and limitation purposes.
- Server logs: per our hosting provider's retention period.
Retention is enforced by a calendar reminder and a manual review, not by an automated deletion job. If that matters to you, ask and we'll tell you exactly what we hold.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis. To exercise any of these, email privacy@knoxtechnologyadvisors.com. We'll respond within 30 days. You won't be charged and you don't need to use any particular form of words.
If you're in the EU, EEA, or UK and think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first so we can fix it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS with certificates provisioned and renewed automatically. It's a static site: there is no application database, no login, and no user accounts, which removes most of the surface where this sort of thing goes wrong. Form submissions are held by our hosting provider and reach us by email.
Please don't send confidential information, regulated data, or personal data about third parties through the contact form. If you need to share something sensitive, say so and we'll arrange an appropriate channel.
Children
This site is aimed at business audiences and isn't directed to children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this notice materially, we'll update the date at the top. The version history is in the site's public source repository, so changes are auditable rather than quietly retroactive.
